Yakitori Yakyudori & Ramen

Ris and I have eaten at this place in the Kearny Mesa location numerous times before. We actually consider it to be one of our “go-to” places for yummy ramen in San Diego. But upon discovering that this place now has daily lunch special sets, we recently decided to pay this place a visit during one of our lunch breaks at work.

Yakitori Yakyoduri was initially a Japanese yakitori and tapas place in the Hillcrest area but sadly now closed =(. The Kearny Mesa location (now the only location) also includes ramen throughout the day and the yakitori/tapas during dinner time. (Btw, the yakitori and tapas are AMAZING! But I will save that for another post =P)

When we got there, it was pretty packed which wasn’t surprising during the weekday lunch hour rush, but non-the-less we were able to get seats at their side bar seating area.

The daily lunch special menu is Monday-Friday from 11:30am -3:00pm and all lunch specials include a small bowl of your choice of ramen! Pretty good deal for $10

We happened to go on a Thursday and so we got the Thursday special which was the Fried Chicken Combo. Note: you can actually get any of the specials in any of the days for an extra $2 more.

My fried chicken combo came with:

-Pieces of Fried Chicken (which I believe is the chicken karaage)

-Two pieces of deep fried pork shumai

-A small order shoyu ramen

Together, it included a bowl of (unlimited) white rice and a side order of kimchi (not pictured).

This is a whole lotta food for $10. Definitely worth it! Like I said, this is one of our usual ramen places so it was no surprise that this place was good, but the new daily lunch deals make it THAT much better. If you are ever in the area, check this place out. You will not be disappointed =)
